Manager Arturo Roman addresses the media in regards to the recent call-ups from AAA and the Dallas Texans, who are currently 37-28 in first place in the Tommy Lasorda Division.
Hello again everyone, I continue to hear the same things over and over, Mr. Roman your team seems to be just going along winning here losing here, not really being able to put a nice winning streak together, does it bother me, no. On our last visit the team had a record of 26-20, and in first place, since then we've gone 11-8, and still in first place with a winning record of 37-28. I'm very proud of our team as we've had key injuries, one to JESSE CLARK, the other to STEVE COX, as I stated to my team each of us must step up to the plate and survive this period without 2 of our top stars. Jesse Clark is now back and has led the way to our team batting AVG being .285, Steve Fox, is about 2 weeks away, I believe we have survived fine. Now I get the latest news from our training staff that RYAN ERICKSON(CF), will be out for about 2 weeks, again we are asking our guys to step it up a notch. In a conversation with Bill Best our scouting director he feels the time is right to give Matt Welch an opportunity to see if he can keep that HOT BAT he has had in AAA alive and bring him up to the Parent Club now, so with that being said we have promoted Matt Welch who will be our starting RF during the next 2 weeks. He now has his chance. Reflected below are his current numbers at AAA.

As I spoke with Bill Best the focus turned to our SP, the number 4 spot has been filled by Tom Chandler who has done a good job there, but we felt it was time to get him a little more grooming at the AAA level something that Tom Chandler didnt have an issue with. With that being said there is a young man at AAA we had counted on to be in our starting rotation from day 1, but things didn't work out. We sent him down to AAA to work a few mechanical things out, and from reports he is ready for another opportunity, below you will see what he has done at AAA, Joe McDowell will be inserted in the #4 SP spot, and we feel he'll do well there, at AAA he has started 11 games , and has a record of 5-3 with an ERA of 2.62. We welcome both of these young men.

Sim Update 5/07-5/20
Manager Arturo Roman reports on the Dallas Texans,
Hello everyone, on our last visit the Texans were 18-15 and in first place in our division, 2 weeks have passed since then, a period that saw us go 8-5, and we stand here now with a record of 26-20, and still in first place in the Lasorda Division.  Our pitching has been solid, but our hitting has yet to come around. On 5/24 we expect to get our leadoff hitter back(Jesse Clark), who is such a big part of our offense,, and I'm anticipating his return, because it will be good seeing Clark and McDonald batting back to back in our lineup for the first time this year, this should improve us as we head towards the end of the month. I expect my team to improve as the year goes on and expect them to compete for the division title. We continue to be lead by SP Rich Bussell who is in Cy Young form this year, and by our Closer Alex Martin who leads the league in saves.. Some improvement by oour hitters and I think this team is primed to reel off a nice winning streak.
Thanks again everyone and we'll see you back here again next week

Updated Report Sim Date April 30-May 6

We spoke with Dallas manager Arturo Roman, and he wasn't pleased with his teams performance, The Texans went 2-5 for the week, and were outscored 16 to 35, the pitching was ok, but the hitting was horrendous. Manager Arturo Moran went on to say that the team must perform better than this in order to compete for a division title. On the positive side of things we stand here with a record of 18-15, first place in the Lasorda Division. I expect our team to perform much better in the coming week.

Dallas Texan Pitcher Honored i the Month of April
Left handed SP Rich Bussell was honored with the Roberto Clemente League Pitcher of the month, compiling the following numbers: 4-0 38 strikouts in 6 starts, an ERA of .64 in 42 IP. Congratualations to our first recipient of this award
Prospect player Spotlight: 25 year old Lefty, SP Prospect Tom Chandler
Tom Chandler is an inspiring story, drafted in round 41, this young man started the year pitching for our AAA affiliate , The Fort Worth Cats, but due to an injury to SP Steve Fox, we promoted Tom, who had a current star rating of 1/2,, and a potential rating of 1 1/2, he has responded to the Bigtime, and apparently he likes the spotlight, he has already recieved a talent bump, after only 3 stars, his current star rating is now at 1  1/2, and his potential rating has bumped up to 2  1/2. Not only has he had a talent bump, but in his first 3 starts he has a record of 1-2, with an ERA of 2.29, with a little run support he could easily be 3-0, nice story for a young man nobody expected much from..

TRADE BLOCK......All Prospects available (AAA/AA/A)

ML REPORT
The month of April is in the books and the Dallas Texans finished the month 16-11, in first place in the Tommy Lasorda division. The team was lead by ACE Rich Bussell who posted a perfect 4-0 mark, with an ERA of .64..... Also performing well was 1B Brian Farmer who hit 316/364/520. The month didn't end without paying a BIG price, as starting 2b(JESSE CLARK), was hurt and is expected to miss 5-6 weeks, also injured was SP Steve Fox, who will miss around 4 months his presence will be missed, both on the field and in the clubhouse.

DOWN ON THE FARM- Featured Player SP-Joe McDowell
Joe "BIG RED" McDowell
Big Red was penciled in the starting rotation to begin the season, he was coounted on to have a good year, as we felt he was ready, we were wrong as he posted dismal numbers: 0-2..12.10 ERA......A trip to the minors was in order and it appears he's beginning to figure it out, as he has a record of 1-2 with a 3.43 ERA, we plan on bringing him back up soon, as it appears his confidence is building again the plan is to give him 3, 4 more starts and re-evaluate him again at that time

TRADE BLOCK
The Dallas Texans are making all minor league prospects available which are in AAA/AA/A
